Before You Start
Good news: there's almost nothing to install. You need a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) and a way to open the project folder. A code editor like VS Code helps if you want to tweak things, and it's optional for just playing.
- A modern browser
- VS Code (optional, for editing and the Live Server extension)
- Python 3 (optional, only if you want to use the terminal server method below)
Setup Steps
Method 1: Just open the file
- Extract the downloaded zip into any folder.
- Find index.html inside it.
- Double-click it. The game opens in your default browser.
This is the fastest way. But some browsers don't save progress on file:// pages, so if your coins reset after a refresh, go to Method 2.
Method 2: Run a local server (recommended)
- Open the project folder in VS Code.
- Install the Live Server extension from the Extensions tab.
- Right-click index.html and choose Open with Live Server.
Prefer the terminal? Open it inside the project folder and run python -m http.server 8000. If Python isn't installed, grab Python 3 from python.org, then open http://localhost:8000 in your browser.
Things That Usually Go Wrong
- No sound. Browsers block audio until you click something. Click Spin once, and check the sound toggle in the header isn't muted.
- Progress not saving. You're probably in private mode or on a file:// page. Switch to a normal window and use Method 2.
- "Not enough coins, add more." Your balance is under 10. Click Add Coins and top up.
How to Check It's Working
- Enter a name. You should see 100 coins in the header.
- Bet 10 and click Spin. The balance should drop to 90 and the wheel should spin for about four seconds.
- A result popup should show what you landed on and your net profit or loss.
- Refresh the page and enter the same name. Your balance should still be there.
If all four happen, you're done. Open the leaderboard once to make sure your name shows up.
